USPTO signs on to interactive IP promotional service
New online interactive education tool from Galaxy Systems, Inc.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has become the first subscriber to a new online interactive education tool from Galaxy Systems, Inc. aimed at demonstrating the value of intellectual property to those who may have no legal or technical background. The game-like tool is designed to help IP owners -- and PTO officials -- raise awareness not only of enforcement issues, but also of the role IP can play in business growth. "The enforcement message is important, but so, too, is the message that intellectual property is something to be recognized and applied in daily economic activity. There is a positive intellectual property message that should also be promoted," says Galaxy Systems President Timothy Trainer. The PTO's subscription to the service will help the agency "inject some fun" into IP education efforts, Trainer adds
